This lamp repair kit includes all of the required lamp parts for fully rewiring a conventional reflector style floor lamp. Reclector style floor lamps are distinguished from regular floor lamps in that they typically have a center-mounted mogul-size socket surrounded by an I.E.S opal glass reflector shade. The opal reflector shade itself is usually surrounded by 3 standard (edison) size candle sockets which may be "turned on or off" independant of the large mogul socket. The design of the reflector floor lamp is very handy in larger rooms and may function as a task light or a light for general illumination. The Push Canopy Switch (#40401) and the candelabra socket w/slip bracket mount (#48214) are for lamps with a bottom (under base) mounted night light and may not be needed for all reflector style floor lamps Complete Lamp Repair Kit contains all of the individual items (and noted quantities) listed below. You may purchase this complete kit, or purchase only the parts you need for restoring your reflector style floor lamp. Warning:
Caution: Electrical Hazard!
Important! You must remember that before you attempt to fit, replace, or remove any of the parts on an electric lamp or fixture you must always disconnect or unplug the lamp or fixture from any source of electricity before you begin. Simply turning the lamp "off" will not protect you from an electrical shock.
If you are not sure how to safely disconnect your lamp or fixture from its electrical source, you should contact a licensed electrician or your local power company for further instructions.
