Hand Decorated Glass Lamp Shades

All lamp shades in this section are made in the USA. With the exception of the cranberry hobnail shade, all of these lamp shades start out as pure white opal glass and then are decorated with dye transfer and/or hand painted "tints". The lamp shades are then "fired" or reheated to over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit and the decorations are made permanent in the glass. This traditional style of decoration dates to the late 1800s in North America and has remained popular even today for lamp shades and lamp fonts. These are perfect replacements for lost or broken lamp shades on many fine American antique and early style table lamps.
